Niko was diagnosed with B - Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when he was 6 years old. He has now undergone surgery, chemotherapy, and spent days in the hospital learning how to take his medications. He just completed treatment on May 5, 2017, a date which is now known as "Cinco de Niko." Niko never lost his spirit or his faith and his infectious smile and laughter fills the room.. He enjoys roller hockey and lego building. He has played baseball and wants to return when he can. He played ice hockey before his diagnosis and maintains his skills by attending stick time with drills. Niko has been able to return to school for half days allowing for some normalcy in his life again. His school supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma’s Pennies for Patients program in honor of Niko. They want to raise money to help find cures for blood cancers!
