Kaelyn was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) when she was 6 years old. Kaelyn has been officially in remission since November 2012 after an intense, high dose chemotherapy protocol that required a 5 month stay in the hospital. She visits the hospital twice a year for blood work and a doctor check up. Kaelyn is happy, kind, friendly, a little shy towards new people, passionate, and loving! She enjoys dancing, gymnastics, soccer, shopping, girl scouts, and spending time with her family and friends. Kaelyn wants to own a pet store because she loves animals and wants to care for them as well as foster homeless pets. Since Kaelyn’s diagnosis, her family has been showered with an out pouring of blessings and support. Her family gives back by participating in many programs that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has to offer including the Pennies for Patients program at her school.
