The 2016-2017 school year ended as a record breaking year for Rampart High School. They set a goal of raising $75,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and ended up at an astounding $82,000, making them the #1 fundraising school in North America for LLS! But their story began over 10 years ago with a cause that has been at the heart of the Rampart community from the start. They began with an event called Bald for Bucks to honor one of their own, teacher and parent, Penny Sanford, who lost her battle with cancer. Ten years later the Bald for Bucks event honored the family of Penny Sanford as well as honored hero, Logan Fritz, a Colorado 1st grader and Leukemia survivor. Together with participants from High Plains Elementary, Academy Endeavor Elementary, Academy International Elementary, and Mountain Ridge Middle School, over 340 participants shaved their heads at the Bald for Bucks Assembly after pledging to raise $25 or more. With the entire community rallied around the event, it is no doubt the Rampart Community is dedicated to the mission of curing blood cancers. Thank you to coordinator Greg Andersen for over 10 years of commitment to this event, your school, community, and to the mission of LLS. And thank you to Dr. Jennifer Royer for fearlessly leading this amazing student council team all year to make Bald for Bucks such a success. Rampart High School has donated over $250,000 to the mission of fighting blood cancers over their 10 years of giving. Thank you, Rampart!
