Congratulations to the 2018 Student of the Year Winner!
In 2018, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) San Antonio Chapter hosted its 2nd Annual Students of the Year campaign. Twelve outstanding students signed up to participate in the event, raising over $171,000 for LLS in 7 short weeks!
For motivated high school students, Students of the Year is the leadership development and philanthropy program that ensures they stand out among peers when engaging with colleges and/or future employers. Through guidance and mentoring from experienced professionals at LLS - the non-profit with a track record of innovation and success - they will make a real impact in the fight against blood cancers.
Congratulations to our San Antonio Students of the Year winner, Mackenzie Lint of Brandeis High School and to Runner-Up Tyler Miles of Smithson Valley High School!
Mackenzie is a Sophomore at Brandeis High School. She ran her campaign in honor of her younger brother Connor who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor when she was just 5 years old. Mackenzie believes it takes a team to be successful, so she credited her campaign team, which includes her brother Connor, with the success of her campaign. She believes that LLS will give every patient a chance to fight cancer. She raised over $37,000 in 7 weeks to become The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "2018 Students of the Year" winner.
